Bromley-by-Bow Gasworks

St William commissioned Augarde & Partners and PRD to develop a place vision for their major gasholder regeneration project at Bromley-by-Bow Gasworks. Located across nine hectares in east London, it is a complex scheme delivering 2000 homes across multiple phases.

We used a co-design process with strategic and local stakeholders to create a vision for the scheme and developed a placemaking strategy encompassing employment, cultural, public realm, leisure, and heritage sub-strategies.

Our vision has embraced the local industrial economy that surrounds the site, celebrating industrial heritage, promoting a low carbon economy and addressing severance and integration with the River Lea’s unique ecology. This has brought numerous stakeholders together, including the council, who are now working in unison to take a wider area identity forward based on this place vision.
