Paul Augarde, Director

Paul conceives and delivers placemaking, economic, commercial and cultural regeneration research, strategies and projects for the public and private sectors, aimed at creating sustainably mixed communities across London and further afield. Recent work has ranged from town centre and high street strategies in Enfield to a Cultural Masterplan for Derby City Centre to a Creative Workspace Plan for the Thames Estuary. This is alongside numerous commercial space and placemaking strategies for developers on large regeneration projects, including Clapham Park, Barnesbury Estate, Dagenham Green, and South Kilburn.

Prior to setting up Augarde Consulting (now Augarde & Partners) in 2020, Paul worked for several housing associations, including Thames Valley Housing and Poplar HARCA. In East London he devised the Lower Lea Fashion and Creative Cluster, a new industrial-led area identity strategy, and delivered the first piece of the cluster: the £6m Poplar Works fashion hub, in partnership with London College of Fashion, UAL and the GLA. Paul helped set up the Mayor of London’s Fashion District in 2018, the Creative Land Trust in 2019, and co-founded the Placemaking Collective UK.
